“Does Medicare cover vision?”

Medicare will cover you for eye diseases such as: glaucoma, cataracts and surgery.  All of these procedures are covered under Medicare.  You will of course need to pay your Co-pays or percentage of procedure, depending on which option you choose. The only thing that Medicare really doesn't cover for is your routine eye exam. That's your annual refractory exam at the optometrist.

There is also no coverage for vision hardware such as contacts, eyeglasses and so forth. Some Medicare Advantage plans, while it's a venture to say most Medicare Advantage plans nowadays will cover vision,  they'll cover that exam and they'll give you some money towards glasses original Medicare, historically did not follow through on that promise.
